Nigeria Presidential Elections INEC announce results, Buhari in the lead

The
atmosphere in Nigeria now is one of palpable tension as Nigerians await
the final results of the recently concluded Presidential elections.
Results from 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) show All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in a clear lead.
Buhari is currently ahead of incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan by 2, 032, 226 votes.
The APC candidate garnered 8,520,436 votes from the states announced while Jonathan won 6,488,210 votes.
Buhari
won resounding victory in Kaduna, Kwara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Oyo,
Ondo, Osun, Kogi and Ogun while Jonathan won in Abia, Anambra, Nasarawa,
Enugu, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Plateau and FCT.
INEC is set to reconvene at 10am today, Tuesday, March 31 to continue collation and announcement of results.
